Sifu Khalil Shabazz
Founder & Chief Instructor of Black Phoenix Jeet Kune Do. Khalil Shabazz is the Founder and Chief Instructor of Black Phoenix Jeet Kune Do, located in Atlanta, GA.
He has been a martial arts student since childhood, growing up in the 1980s. He has competed in Point Fighting matches (too many to count) and Full Contact matches, leaving the sport behind in his 30s with a 7-4 record.
Now, he is a Jeet Kune Do instructor (JKD is the Reality Based Self Defense art created by the late Bruce Lee.) Mr. Shabazz is currently under the tutelage of Sifu Harinder Singh.
In addition to Instructor Certificates in JKD & FMA, he holds a Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do, as well as minor belts & sashes in several other Martial Arts, including Wing Chun Kung Fu, Shotokan Karate, Krav Maga, Jow Ga, and Chin Na.
He also holds Certificates in Personal Fitness Training, Group Fitness Training, & Sports Nutrition. Khalil is a member of the IDEA Health & Fitness Association, National. Fitness Association, and American Muscle and Fitness.
He is currently a Jeet Kune Do Athletic Association, International Wing member. Chun Martial Arts Association, the International Society of Close Quarter Combatants, The World Jeet Kune Do Federation, and is a past member of Paul Vunak’s - Descendants Of the Masters.
Currently, he is a member in good standing of the Jeet Kune Do Athletic Association, founded by Sifu Harinder Singh.
